Resident in Counseling
Coral Collins, M.A.

My journey through the landscape of mental health has sculpted me into the person I am today. This journey, though unique and personal, serves as my compass, guiding my passion for supporting others as they navigate their own life challenges. In a world that often stigmatizes mental health issues and therapy, it can be difficult to open up. Yet, my mission is to provide a safe space for self-exploration, where together, we can realize your goals. Remember, you are never alone in this journey.

My upbringing in Stuarts Draft, VA, nestled in the core of the Blue Ridge Mountains, shaped much of who I am. I pursued my Bachelor's degree at Mary Baldwin University. Following my time there, I embarked on a career in the service industry. However, a feeling of incompleteness nudged me towards a more fulfilling path: mental health care. Driven by this newfound purpose, I graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My innate desire to lend an ear to those in need and help them navigate their struggles has found a home in my new career path. Assisting others in finding purpose and meaning in their lives, in turn, enriches my own life experiences.

In my professional journey, I've had the privilege of serving a diverse clientele, ranging from seven-year-olds to young adults. I've provided counselling and support for those grappling with a wide spectrum of challenges, from anxiety and depression to interpersonal difficulties and grief. Additionally, I've been able to support individuals navigating developmental adjustments and a host of other life hurdles and/or diagnosis. In my therapeutic approach, I place you at the center of the process, cherishing your unique traits and experiences. Together, we'll collaborate to find innovative solutions to your individual challenges. My focus is on the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship, and I have unwavering belief in the resilience inherent in every individual. The opportunity to accompany, bear witness to, and empower individuals on their life's journey is one I am deeply grateful for.

At heart, I am an introvert. I revel in video games, Dungeons & Dragons, music, reading, and movie-watching. The kitchen is my playground, whether I'm cooking up a beloved dish at home or sampling new cuisines. I am genuinely intrigued by the hobbies and musical tastes of others, always keen to broaden my own horizons.
