Julie's academic journey began at West Virginia University, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She later pursued advanced studies at Purdue University, earning her master's degree and FNP certification. Across a span of over 19 years, Julie has accumulated a wealth of experience in diverse patient care settings, ranging from acute care to outpatient environments. Yet, it is in community healthcare and mental health where Julie's true passion is ignited. Her expertise is broad and includes case management, public health, and health prevention and promotion. She is celebrated for her amicable and energetic personality, and she strongly advocates for a holistic, collaborative approach to patient care.
Julie's extensive experience extends into the realms of mental health and addiction recovery. She utilizes competency-based approaches to treat patients with Opioid use disorder, Alcohol use disorder, and other substance use disorders. Her methods draw upon evidence-based treatments, including non-pharmacological interventions and medication. She is a proud affiliate of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and holds the licensure to prescribe and administer buprenorphine (suboxone) and Vivitrol.
