Taylor Crawford Hedrick

Taylor Crawford Hedrick is a dedicated Graduate intern and a mental health professional from Harrisonburg, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from West Virginia University in 2019 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Eastern Mennonite University, with an expected graduation in May 2026. Taylor is licensed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T).

Taylor began her career in 2019 as a Mental Health Case Manager at Valley Community Services Board, where she supported individuals with serious mental illness through care coordination, benefits assistance, and community resource navigation. In 2021 she worked as a Housing Specialist, helping individuals experiencing homelessness secure stable housing through crisis intervention and collaborative problem-solving. Most recently, in 2023, she served as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Specialist in a local middle school, providing therapeutic services to students at risk of out-of-school placement. Her work included individual counseling, group therapy, and case management focused on emotional and behavioral support.

Taylor’s clinical interests include working with children and adolescents (ages seven and up), young adults, couples, individuals affected by trauma, and those navigating substance use challenges. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s needs. She utilizes Child-Centered Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy with children and adolescents; Transformative Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples; and The Seven Challenges, Motivational Interviewing, experiential methods, and group therapy for substance use. She also incorporates narrative, solution-focused, humanistic, person-centered, and psychodynamic modalities into her practice.

She is trained in Crisis Intervention (CIT), Psychological First Aid, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Taylor’s therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for healing and growth. Her goal is to help clients uncover their inner strength and move from surviving to thriving.

Outside of her professional and academic commitments, Taylor enjoys spending time outdoors—hiking, kayaking, swimming, or relaxing in her hammock with her dog. When indoors, she loves reading and discovering new favorite shows.
